God and the Force

God and the Force

Before I start, here is a brief description of the Force and God; we have to know what we are comparing!

God- Who is God? God is the one and only, all knowing, all powerful, and “most importantly”, loving God. He created Earth in seven days, created all living things including man and beast “book of Genesis”, and knows and loves every single one of us.“O LORD, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O LORD.” “Psalm 139:1-18”

The Force-The Force is complicated, so to make it a little easier, please watch the first video on this group page or follow this link. The important part starts at the 50 second mark, so you may skip ahead if you wish.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t5Ff-WbWFPU

In the movies, the force allows people, namely Jedi, to manipulate the universe and matter, such as pushing objects, seeing the future, and even creating lightning. The Force has two sides, the light side and the dark side. Wookieepedia explains…The light side of the Force was the facet aligned with compassion, courage, healing, and benevolence, while the dark side of the Force was the element aligned with hatred, fear, aggression and malevolence.

Now that we have a general idea of God and the Force, we can compare them.In analyzing the video, we can instantly see some similarities.

1.Star Wars: the force lives inside of people./ Reality: God lives inside us.

2. Star Wars: without the Force, nothing would exist./ Reality: without God, nothing would exist.

3. Star Wars: the force speaks to people, when minds are quiet in meditation. / Reality: God speaks to us when we are praying and our minds are quiet.

Although these are excellent example of how the Force is similar to God, there is another example that may not be so apparent. Watch this clip from Star Wars Episode 1 from the 45 mark to the 1:25 mark. “Keep the video open because I will refer to it later”http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sieeyRKGqpY

In this video, Anakin is getting ready for a pod race, just when Sebulba, an aggressive contender in the race sabotages Anakin’s racer. Shortly after Qui-Gon reminds him to “feel, don’t think”. He was referring for him to trust in the Force. So now what does this have to do with God? Look at it this way: Let’s say you’re Anakin, and life is a pod race. Let’s also make Sebulba Satan, the devil. So what just happened? The Devil tells you you’re not going to make it, and he seems to know something you don’t. So then what? Your brain start rushing, worrying, wondering what’s going to happen, but then, someone reminds you to trust in God, not to think, just feel his presence and trust in Him; just like qui-Gon in the movie!

Now in case you forgot what happens later as a result of that sabotage, skip ahead to the 8:20 mark in the same video. What happens next? Anakin’s pod catches on fire! It’s important to note that the first thing someone would usually do is slow down, and be safe, forfeiting the race and still have your body intact! But Anakin didn’t do that, instead he kept going, letting the Force guide his mind into fixing his racer, not even slowing down! Not only did he fix it, it even seemed to go faster. How else would he have caught up to Sebulba so quickly? This shows us that even when life is tough; it always pays off to trust in God and God alone. Also important, never stop trusting in God; we can see this soon after the first hazard, something else happened, when Sebulba and Anakin conjoined their pod racers. Even though it was almost a Given that the bigger racer would survive the separation, it was Anakin who crossed the finish line! It just goes to show we need to trust God in Every Situation. There is one last similarity that many people see as a major difference, that we cannot control God. The world would be chaos if God acted like the Force, or if we could control him. To see what I mean watch this videohttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8lVB-_a-VUc

Although it is obvious we cannot do these things, this idea is not completely removed from reality. In the Bible, God’s Truth, tells us that we can move mountains. The story is that there is a boy that is demon possessed. Jesus’ Disciples, who should have been able to heal him, were unable to do it, then Jesus comes in and immediately heals the boy. After the boy is healed, the disciples ask Jesus why they could not do the same. This is how he answers…“20He replied, "Because you have so little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there' and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you."Only through God’s power and our faith in him can we move mountains. This is outweighs the Force in the way that only the ones who love God are able to do great things, and so it is Impossible to do miraculous things apart from God, avoiding such destructive powers from the previous video.

Darth Vader and Jesus

Many people see Darth Vader as Dark Lord of the sith, which is true. But few people see he actually has some in common with Jesus Christ

First of course I have to mention there are some obvious differences, such as Anakin Skywalker "Darth Vader" Was NOT a Perfect man like Jesus, he sinned just as any other human would. Also, Christ did not have children like Anakin Did.

Now for the Similarities.

1. Anakin was born without a father, only from a sith lord inception.

2. Anakin was foretold to be the one that "brings balance to the force", similar to Jesus being the one to save our Souls.

Now the Story...

We will start at the end, in episode 6, in the all too familiar Death Star II. Luke right now is being electrocuted by Darth Sidius. Shortly after, Darth Vader Comes in and picks him up and throws him into a large hole. Now what does this have to do with Christ? Think about it.
Pretend Darth Sidius is Sin and the human race is Luke. Sin was killing us, and we were just about to die from the overwhelming lightning of sin. What happens next? Pretend now that Darth Vader is Jesus, I know it’s odd but stay with me... What does Darth Vader do? He picks up Sidius, and throws him overboard.

Darth Vader made a sacrifice for his son Luke; his Robotic pieces could not withstand the high voltage of the lightning, so Darth Vader Died with Darth Sidius. In Comparison to Darth Vader, Jesus Died on the Cross, dying with the Sin that used to be electrocuting us, and finished Satan Forever. It’s not over however...

In the End of Episode 6, we see Young Anakin Skywalker, Darth Vader, As a Ghost! Just like Vader, Jesus Also was raised from the dead, appearing to the disciples soon after and then went up to heaven.

You may have a question like this: when did Darth Vader take the sin like Jesus Did? well I believe it was when Anakin turned into Darth Vader, because inside he was starting to die all along until he finally died at the death star, Just as Jesus was Tortured on the cross with the Crown of Thorns and lashes, until he finally Died on the Cross for us.
